EnerGuide for Houses provides $1500 per home grant for those installing solar hot water heating systems on an existing home, or $1000 for installs on a new home.

Should be applicable to most residential installs
$500 federal & $1000 provincial contributions makes Saskatchewan very progressive in funding residential solar hot water.

Commercial Renewable Energy Grants provide a combined grant totaling 50% of total project cost for solar hot water projects

25% federal, 25% provincial - makes most solar projects in the sector very attractive from a financial point of view
Allows Saskatchewan businesses to reduce both energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions.
Helps the province be more responsible in terms of our global environmental impact.

Low and Moderate Income Grants (SHEIP) available from the provincial government

Available to households with annual income of $52,000 or less
Grants of $4000 for home energy efficiency upgrades, including solar hot water

Rock Paper Sun Rent-to-own & pure Rental arrangements

Allow home owners to rent the system without the up-front costs
Rent-to-own plans are worked over 10 years, pure rental plans are continual, with the option of changing plans at any time.
The goal is to have rental rates less than the energy rates they are displacing - so customers are ahead every month.

Green Loans available from various financial institutions to fund energy efficient improvements

Typical interest rates are at or near prime
Tied to the EnerGuide for Houses program, and includes a rebate to cover the cost of EnerGuide inspections
